Heat Pump Service for Dove Mountain homes, through a licensed local company we match you with. Dove Mountain: High desert foothills against the Tortolita Mountains at about 2,700 feet, higher than the Marana valley floor. Newer, larger homes. A heat pump is the sensible default for a home on the Tucson valley floor: heating demand is mild, and the same unit does the cooling the house needs anyway.
Recorded subdivision plats in Dove Mountain have a median recording year of 2009 (Pima County plats). Builder-installed equipment from that era is reaching its second decade, when capacitors, contactors, fan motors and slow refrigerant leaks start to show up. At about 2,700 feet, Dove Mountain is valley-floor desert where Pima County's code winter design temperature is 35F, so heating duty is light. Larger custom homes here may run more than one system or zoned ducts, so say which rooms are affected. If your HOA reviews exterior equipment, a change to the outdoor unit's size or location may need its architectural committee's approval first. Dove Mountain is in the Town of Marana, so its permit rules apply rather than the City of Tucson's; the contractor confirms them and pulls the permit. Pima County lists Trico Electric Cooperative as serving this part of the metro, so check whether your bill says TEP or Trico before counting on a TEP Efficient Home rebate. Heat pump service in Marana covers a lot of builder-installed heat pumps from the 2000s, now in their second decade. Defrost boards, reversing valves, capacitors and slow leaks are the usual repairs. Pima County lists Trico Electric Cooperative as serving Marana, so check whether TEP or Trico is your utility before counting on a rebate.
