How much does duct cleaning cost in Tucson?
We don’t publish a Tucson price for duct cleaning. Each company sets its own, and the scope varies so much between offers that one number wouldn’t tell you much. What helps more is knowing what the job should include, whether you need it at all and how to compare offers.

Do Tucson homes need duct cleaning?
Not on a schedule. The EPA does not recommend routine duct cleaning on a fixed schedule. It suggests cleaning when there is substantial visible mold, vermin, excessive dust or debris, or particles released from registers. The EPA also says duct cleaning has never been shown to prevent health problems and that there is little evidence cleaning ducts alone improves efficiency.
Dust is real in the desert and storms during the monsoon stir it up. But a dusty house doesn’t always mean dirty ducts. A dirty filter or leaky return often explains it. See is duct cleaning worth it in Tucson.
What should an offer list?
- What gets cleaned: supply runs, returns, registers, the air handler and the blower
- The method and the equipment, and whether the system is under negative pressure
- Whether the price covers the whole home or per vent, and any add-ons
- What the company does if it finds mold or damage
- Whether sealing or repairs are included or separate
Be wary of very low advertised prices that rise on site, and of any promise of a health result or a promised bill drop.
What may help more than cleaning?
ENERGY STAR says a typical forced-air house can lose about 20% to 30% of the air moving through its ducts to leaks, holes and poor connections. That is a national figure for a typical house, not a measurement of any Tucson home. Duct sealing addresses leakage. As listed by TEP in October 2026, its Efficient Home Program offers up to $300 for duct sealing through a participating contractor, varying by how much leakage is reduced. See duct leak repair.
How should you compare two offers?
Ask each company the same questions and write the answers down. Check the contractor’s license at roc.az.gov, ask what is included and ask for the full price before work begins. Hire a licensed contractor for any change to the ductwork itself.
